Updated | By Newswatch
If you haven't submitted your tax return yet, you'll have another week and a bit to do so.
The South African Revenue Service (SARS) has extended the deadline for non-provisional taxpayers from Tuesday to next week Thursday.
The revenue service says its experienced some systemic issues.
It says load shedding has also made it difficult for some to file their returns.
The taxman will now only start implementing penalties for non-compliance in January.
The current tax season opened on the 1st of July.
"We urge taxpayers to use our convenient digital channels, namely, eFiling, SARS MobiApp, as well as the SMS service, which has the number 47277. By sending an SMS to this number, taxpayers can book an appointment at a SARS branch, check if they need to file a return and other services," SARS said in a statement.
"The SARS website has also been upgraded to allow for more digital services to taxpayers. For more information on these services, visit www.sars.gov.za."
