SAPU welcomes inquiry into Mkhwanazi allegations
Updated | By Tsakane Mhlongo
The South African Policing Union has hailed the establishment of a judicial commission of inquiry, calling it a step in the right direction.

President Cyril Ramaphosa set it up to investigate allegations of collusion and interference in the police force.
It came on the back of KZN Police Commissioner Nhlanhla Mkhwanazi claiming that Police Minister Senzo Mchunu had been involved in attempts to obstruct justice.
Mchunu, who's been placed on special leave pending the outcome of the inquiry, has denied the allegations.
"We are looking forward to the commission doing its work in this regard," says the union's Lesiba Thobakgale.
"We hope that it'll assist in uncovering every allegation and everything that relates to policing and also to what has been outlined in the allegations that were made by the KwaZulu-Natal Provincial Commissioner."
Meanwhile, a march got underway in Durban on Tuesday morning in support of Mkhwanazi.
