Santaco confirms increase in taxi fares from July
Updated | By Xolani Khumalo
Taxi commuters will have to dig deeper into their pockets for fares from July.

The South African National Taxi Council (Santaco) has confirmed it's going to cost more to travel in a minibus.
The council held its 6th national conference in the North West province earlier this week.
"It is a principle that we follow as Santaco nationally, that on the first of July that fares of minibus taxis are always increased. That is our norm. This year as well the very same this is going to be applicable," says Santaco's KZN secretary Sfiso Shangase.
"You should also bear in mind that when the petrol and diesel fluctuate, we are not considering that fluctuation. But we have a stable principle which creates stability within the taxi industry."
