#SandtonShutdown - ANCWL demands state of emergency

The ANC Women's League believes government should declare a state of emergency against gender-based violence.
The league has joined a number of other civil society groups outside the Johannesburg Stock Exchange in Sandton this morning.

Protestors will hand over a memorandum of their grievances to officials later this morning.

Numerous cases of gender-based violence, including rape, murder, sexual assault and crimes against children, have grabbed headlines across the country in recent weeks.
