SANDF on standby to assist with matric exams if KZN weather turns foul
The KZN Department of Education says the defence force is on
standby to help deliver matric exam papers in the event of weather-related
delays or disruptions.
The National Senior Certificate exams kicked off for thousands of full-time and part-time Grade 12 candidates on Monday.
Education officials have also turned to the state security cluster for assistance to prevent matric exam paper leaks.
"We do currently that no one will catch our paper before it's written,” says the provincial department's Muzi Mahlambi.
He says pupils and parents were also asked to sign a pledge to avoid any irregularities.

These matrics in KZN shared with Newswatch how they're feeling about the next five and half weeks.
“I expected to be overwhelmed with nerves but I found myself rather calm. It was a relatively good start."
This matric says the most recent exam she did went well. “For my finals prep, I've been three past papers a day."
This student says he's confident about his next paper - which is Afrikaans.
“I wholeheartedly feel that we can enter the exam room with all the tools we need to conquer that paper."
