Samwu, Impendle to meet over wage payment delays
Updated | By Celumusa Zulu
The South African Municipal Workers Union (Samwu) hopes for a full investigation into the non-payment of salaries at Impendle.

The labour union is set to meet with the ANC-led local municipality on Monday over unexplained deductions and late payments.
Samwu's Nkosikhona Biyela says some workers have not been paid this month.
He says the matter's been escalated to the local government.

" The municipality says it has challenges, which it did not specify. On Monday, we are meeting with them to find out why workers have not been paid currently.
"We do not know the reasons for nonpayment of salaries. The local leadership met with them, and they asked to be given time and they said they will get back to them."
Newswatch has reached out to the municipality for comment.
