SABC's plan to reappoint COO - unlawful: Save Our SABC Coalition
Updated | By ECR Newswatch
The Save our SABC Coalition (SOS) is accusing the SABC board and Communications Minister Faith Muthambi of undermining the rule of law to protect controversial COO Hlaudi Motsoeneng.
SOS spokesperson Sekoetlane Phamodi has been reacting to an internal SABC letter doing the rounds.
The board allegedly requests the approval from the Minister for Motsoeneng to act as COO until December, despite the Appeals Court ruling that his permanent appointment was invalid.
"We did foresee that this would happen. This is really a subversion of a rule of law. We are at the moment weighing-up our options. We are wanting to intervene here," he said.
