SABC chair, Mbulaheni Maguvhe resigns

The Chairperson of the SABC Board, Mbulaheni Maguvhe, has today tendered his resignation.
This has been confirmed in a statement by the Presidency.
Last week - as the remaining board member - Maguvhe appeared before Parliament in an inquiry into the fitness of the public broadcaster.

The inquiry, conducted by a Parliamentarian Ad Hoc Committee, saw the testimony of four of the so-called SABC 8, Communications Minister Faith Muthambi, and former board members - amongst others.
The Presidency's Bongani Ngqulunga says President Jacob Zuma has thanked Maguvhe for his efforts during his tenure.
