Rock throwers strike again
Updated | By Shaun Ryan
Durban police are on high alert again following three apparent rock throwing incidents in and around the city.
Officers have opened a case of malicious damage to property after a rock was thrown at a woman’s car on the N2 between Umhlali and Tinley Manor on the north coast.
SAPS spokesperson Thembeka Mbele says the motorist had been travelling on the northbound carriageway when she heard a loud bang and her windscreen shattered. She was not hurt. Meanwhile, two other incidents took place yesterday.
Police say cases are yet to be opened. Both incidents occurred on the R102 – the first near Verulam and the second near Cornubia.
