Richards Bay Harbour strike illegal: Transnet
Updated | By ECR Newswatch
Transnet says the strike by some workers at the Richards Bay Harbour is illegal.

Earlier today some protesters went on the rampage at the entrance to the port using payloaders to bulldoze and overturn police vehicles.
In a statement, the Transnet Ports Authority says those striking are contract workers employed by a materials handling company which operates from the harbour.
Transnet says it's put contingency plans in place to ensure minimal disruption to operations.
It also says it's jacked up security at the harbour to make sure employees are safe
Meanwhile - KZN police spokesperson Thulani Zwane says several protesting workers have been on charges of malicious damage to property and public violence.
" The situation is back to normal now at Richards Bay Transnet - after protesters were protesting about work related issues. Up to now there's about 16 suspects that were arrested as a result of this protest."
Zwane has confirmed that two police vehicles were damaged during today's protests.
