Residents hopeful as work on Southern Aqueduct Pipeline starts
Updated | By Noxolo Miya
A Queensburgh resident says while the two-year wait is long, some people are hopeful that repairs to a bulk water pipeline will bring much-needed relief to communities, south of Durban.
The Southern Aqueduct Pipeline is undergoing major repairs in Westcliff.
eThekwini Mayor Mxolisi Kaunda says the R1.2 billion project will improve the water supply to the city's southern parts.
Last month, taps in Queensburgh ran dry for weeks due to low water levels at a reservoir in Northdene.

Resident Michelle Frazer hopes the ongoing outages become a thing of the past.
"After struggling with long periods with no water for anything between five to 12 days at a time, it will be a welcome relief to have an uninterrupted water supply.
"What I am hoping for is to have a water supply that is not interrupted."
