Information Regulator wants IEC to explain leaked candidate lists
Updated | By Newswatch
The Information Regulator has urged the Independent Electoral Commission to provide more details about a security breach involving the unauthorised release of candidate lists.

The ANC and the Umkhonto we Sizwe Party's candidate lists for the elections were published on social media on Friday, shortly after the IEC’s submission deadline.
The regulator received two notifications from the IEC but deemed them insufficient under the Protection of Personal Information Act.
