President
Cyril Ramaphosa says he is hopeful the City of Gold can be restored to its
former glory like eThekwini.

He says the Presidential Working Group, implemented in the Durban metro, has been making progress.
"eThekwini was also one of those metros that was just going downhill. We were able to interact with various stakeholders. We established workstreams that had a representation of all these role players.
"They worked through the various issues from water to crime, to a number of other issues. And today eThekwini, of course with good leadership is, beginning to turn around and we're already beginning to see great dividends."
Ramaphosa was responding to questions in the National Assembly in Cape Town on Tuesday.
He recently held discussions with Johannesburg's executive council to address service delivery challenges.
During the visit, Ramaphosa urged officials to sort out these and other issues before the G20 World Leaders Summit in November.
"Johannesburg is still the capital city of money. The banks themselves are very keen to work with our metro government there to revamp and to revive the city but more importantly to make sure that service delivery is delivered in the way that our residents in Johannesburg expect."
