Ramaphosa sends condolences following deadly Halloween stampede in South Korea

Cyril Ramaphosa's offered the country’s condolences to the people of South
Korea, after a deadly stampede claimed the lives of at least 153 people in
Seoul.
Crowds thronged the capital's central district during Halloween celebrations.
Many ended up crammed into an alleyway - setting off panic.
“President Ramaphosa wished all those injured a speedy recovery,” says the president’s spokesperson Vincent Magwenya.

“Some family members of those missing have spent the day waiting for news, and touring hospitals in their search for their loved ones. This party-goer says problems started after a large group surged into the narrow street.
“They just wanted to feel that fun and freedom of Halloween, finally with less restrictions and dress up and have a good time and very quickly it became an actual horror."
Around 26 foreigners from 15 countries were caught up in the disaster.
