Ramaphosa: Land reform to prioritise women
Updated | By Gcinokuhle Malinga
President Cyril Ramaphosa says women will be prioritised in land reform programmes.
Speaking during the Woman's Day celebrations in Vryburg in the North West province, he said in some instances, culture and tradition had been used as an excuse to deny women land ownership.
Ramaphosa says this should be brought to an end.
"There is no reason why women in our country cannot own and work the land", he said.
"This is unacceptable, especially in a country that guarantees equality between men and women", Ramaphosa said.
