Ramaphosa hails new cruise terminal in Durban as world class

President Cyril Ramaphosa has hailed the Nelson Mandela cruise terminal in Durban as a world-class tourist attraction.

The new terminal was unveiled at a ribbon-cutting ceremony at the port on Wednesday night.
"It's much bigger than just launching the terminal, there's also an important step in positioning the City of Durban as a premier cruise terminal for tourism destination alongside the finest in the world."

The Mediterranean Cruise Company or MSC, teamed up with Transnet a few years ago, to design, build and operate the new depot at the Durban port.
Ramaphosa, who was joined by Premier Nomusa Dube-Ncube], said over half a million new job opportunities will be created over 15 years.
"No doubt will boost tourism to Durban and contribute postivelty to the economy not only of this metro or province but also our country."
The president said the KZN Logistics Hub programme has an investment tag of amounting to R157 billion.
