Radio presenter fired after calling Julius Malema 'a monkey'
Updated | By ECR Newswatch
Veteran radio presenter, Sasha Martinengo has been dismissed after referring to EFF leader, Julius Malema as 'a monkey' on-air.

Management at Johannesburg-based radio station, Hot91.9fm have issued a statement saying - although Martinengo has unreservedly apologised he'll no longer be involved with the radio station in any capacity.
"The statement by the presenter violated the station’s code of conduct and its commitment to our national democratic values and furthermore is viewed in an extremely serious light," the statement reads.
In the statement, the station further issued an apology to Malema, saying they deeply regret any harm that the statement may have caused.
Martinengo then took the matter to Twitter saying he apologises but stands by what he said.

The party's Mbuyiseni Ndlozi says they welcome Martinengo's dismissal, but will be seeking to open a criminal case against him.
