Public barricade Pinetown roads over closed Labour offices

The closure of the Department of Labour offices in Pinetown has angered some members of the public, resulting in the barricading of Crompton Street this morning.

The department confirmed the closure is due to a staff member testing positive for COVID-19 on Tuesday.
It also says because yesterday was a public holiday, the offices could not be decontaminated to be ready for use today.
The department's KZN spokesperson is Nhlanhla Khumalo.
"Unfortunately, we had to call police services for assistance The situation is under, it was mainly because we had a Covid case on the premises.

"We urged our clients to bear with us, this is a situation that is beyond our control. We have confirmed today that the disinfecting process has taken place and we will be operational tomorrow.
