UPDATE: After a morning of unrest at the Oceans Umhlanga development - protesters have now dispersed.

A crowd of around 300 people has marched on the site in Lagoon Drive, north of Durban.

It is understood that this morning's protest is being led by the Federation for Radical Economic Transformation, the same group that forced workers to down tools last week.

It is believed the group wants a stake in the construction project.

The protestors are blocking the entrance to the site. Some people are carrying sticks and they are not allowing workers in.

Police form Durban North SAPS and Metro Police are on the scene monitoring the situation.

There have been no incidents of violence reported yet and traffic is free-flowing in the area.

Marchers made their way to the construction site just before 7am this morning, despite developers securing a high court interdict against disruptions there last week.

Police have been engaging with the group's leaders, asking them to disperse.

Tensions remain high in the area.
