Project #Watershare: Residents encouraged to donate water

KwaZulu Natal's brutal water crisis remains top of mind for many people in the province.

East Coasters are being urged to open their hearts and wallets as day two of East Coast Radio's #WaterShare drive continues this morning.

Nearly 3000 litres of water were donated yesterday.

You can play your part by donating sealed bottles of water at ECR House in Umhlanga. Water can also be dropped off at the offices of Gift of the Givers Foundation in Overport and Pietermaritzburg.

We've spoken to a few good Samaritans who have donated water bottles.

"I think we are all affected by the drought here in Durban and across the country but today is my brother's birthday so I said let us do something for the community and Durban as a tribute to that," said one water donor.

"I just heard it on East Coast Radio and I thought I would bring my contribution as well," a Durban dad said.

"I was driving around this morning to work and I heard this on the radio and I realised we've got so much water. So I must get involved," said the resident.
