Probe into fatal Durban stabbing incident
A 27-year-old man has been killed in a stabbing incident along the Durban beachfront in the early hours of this morning.
It is understood the man's body was found near the pool at North Beach.
The discovery was made less than a day after the national SAPS top brass visited key deployments on the beachfront ahead of the festive season rush.
The murder victim was allegedly robbed of his personal items by three suspects. No arrests have been made.
The police's Vish Naidoo says as part of operation Fiyela there will be continuous policing of crime hotspots and popular hubs in KwaZulu-Natal.
"One of the biggest strategies is to ensure high visibility of police officers on foot patrol, in vehicles, on bicycles - in the air and so forth. Basically, this is highlighting the fact that all the areas will be saturated with police presence to ensure that people are and feel safe," he said.
