President Zuma not linked to R80 000 restaurant bill

The Presidency has refuted claims that a bill circulating on social media is that of the President.

The receipt that shows a gross total of R73 053.50 with R7 305.50 worth in gratuity was shared multiple times on social media.


One of the most expensive items listed on the bill is the Glenfiddich whisky for R29 700.


According to Times Live, the spokesperson for the president Bongani Ngqulunga confirmed that it does not belong to the head of state.

Ngqulunga says Zuma was not in the country at the time of the incident but was attending the inauguration of Ugandan President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni. 


It is reported the high-end restaurant, Signature situated in Morningside Johannesburg hosts politicians‚ businessmen and celebrities.
