Premier leads multi-faith provincial prayer
Updated | By Lauren Beukes
A multi-faith provincial prayer day has seen faith leaders gather in Mayville, in Durban, along with the KZN Premier.
Premier Sihle Zikalala says the prayer day yesterday focused on the recovery of the province devastated by the coronavirus.
Zikalala said the decrease in new infections in the province is encouraging, with a steady decline in infections from a high of 6 000 to a seven-day average of 375.
"Let us together pray for the survival of our country, let us pray for the livelihoods of our people for the recovery of the social being but also for the recovery of our economy", he said.
"We humbly ask you to keep in prayers our healthcare workers who are working long hours and face more risk of contracting the virus", Zikalala said.
