Prayers and vigil for Miguel Louw

Sydenham community members say they hope the body recovered in Phoenix earlier this week is not that of missing Durban boy, Miguel Louw.

Emotions ran high last night at a candlelit vigil held by Louw's family outside his Sydenham home. Community members and Louw's family came together to sing and pray for speed in the DNA testing of the body recovered on Monday.
Police have already taken samples for testing from Louw's parents.
A post-mortem was also conducted. Last night, the community vowed to stand up against violent crime against women and children.

Speaking to Newswatch, some residents say they will continue to support the family.
"We need to stand with them and support them because he used to play with our children. He was a part of us. We used to see him everyday. He was such a humble child," said one community member.
"We just want closure. He comes from God and he does not deserve this. Please give the family space to deal with this in peace," said another.
