Political parties to elect Nquthu local council

Political parties will have the opportunity to elect the office bearers for the Nquthu Local Municipality today.
The Department of Co-operative Governance and Traditional Affairs is hopeful today's sitting will proceed smoothly. The EFF's Mlungisi Rapodile says the community must come first.
"We hope that even other parties will accept the outcome. Let democracy prevail so that service delivery will be sped up. Let's put the people at the centre," he said.
The DA's Zwakele Mncwango says the needs of the disctric are yet to be addressed.

We have not received any service delivery in that municipality. We wanted to give people an opportunity to receive proper service delivery because it is long overdue," he said.
The ANC says it is time to settle the matter to ensure service delivery.
