Police truck with detainees crashes in Richmond
KwaZulu-Natal police
rushed to the scene of a crash involving a police truck carrying detainees from
Pietermaritzburg to Kokstad on Monday morning.
The vehicle hit a guardrail and crashed on the R56 road in Richmond on Monday morning.
SAPS, paramedics, and multiple other ambulance services confirmed that all the inmates were transported to a nearby hospital.

"The detainees and police officers sustained injuries during the accident," said KZN SAPS spokesperson Robert Netshiunda.
"The truck was being escorted by four police vehicles, and the accident scene has been secured, ensuring that detainees remain in custody."
