Updated | By Lauren Beukes
The Provincial Taxi Violence Task Team has been roped in to investigate the murder of a taxi boss in Durban south.
The 63-year-old woman was gunned down on Monday near her home on Boniface Road in Woodlands.
Police say she was ambushed by gunmen as she got out of an e-hailing service.
She died on the scene. The e-hailing driver was not injured.

One resident says it happened near her home.
"I was phoned by a neighbour who witnessed the whole shooting and she said the woman needed assistance. I ran to my house with a first-aid bag, jumped into my phone and off I went, but by the time I got there, it was too late for the lady.
"Officers need to be on the road, we need assistance from the courts as well because people get arrested, they need to go to jail for crimes."
