Police seize cocaine worth R252m in Still Bay

Two men, including a Russian national, are expected to appear in court soon in connection with cocaine valued at R252 million, which was seized during an operation in Still Bay.

Western Cape police seized the drugs at the Still Bay harbour on Friday.
"While traveling the members spotted the vehicle with a rubber duck on it’s trailer which fitted the description. The vehicle sped off and a chased ensued,'' said provincial police spokesperson Christopher Spies.
"Upon searching the rubber duck the police found 14 bags with contain bricks of cocaine. The police seized the find, a (vehicle) and a rubber duck with trailer."

Spies said the suspects are still in police custody and will appear in court once they are charged.
"The suspects, a 48 man from Gauteng and a 39 year old Russian national, remain in police custody. They will appear in court once charged.
"An investigation into the find is underway. This matter is being investigated by the Directorate for Priority Crime Investigation."
