Police Minister, Bheki Cele has confirmed a suspect has been arrested in connection with Sindiso Magaqa's murder.

The former ANC Youth League Secretary-General and Umzimkhulu councillor was shot along with two other councillors in Ibisi village last July.
He died in hospital two months later. Councillors Nontsikelelo Mafa and Jabulile Msiya - who'd been travelling with Magaqa when they were ambushed - survived the attack.

Bheki Cele confirmed the arrest at a briefing in Durban this afternoon - on the work of the inter-ministerial committee probing KZN political killings.
He says the suspect appeared in the Umzimkhulu Magistrate’s Court today.
"What is interesting is that he is linked to six murders including in Gauteng. He is a real 'nkabi'. He is not the last one. We are still hunting some other people that are linked," Cele said.
