Police appeal for witnesses after botched hijacking in Durban

Residents from Glenwood and Umbilo were left in shock following a botched hijacking yesterday afternoon.
One man had been shot dead while a women was hurt during the shooting which took place in Ferguson Road.

A 25-year-old suspect is due to appear in court soon in connection with the shooting. Police managed to arrest him within minutes.
Police spokesperson Thulani Zwane says the victim, a 35-year-old man, died on scene while the woman who had been in the car with him was taken to hospital.
Zwane says the officer nabbed the suspect in Brand Road.
"The matter is still under investigation. It is possible that there might be more suspects who were involved in this incident. The police are still appealing to the community members who saw the incident to come forward and give us information if there are more suspects involved," he said.
