PMB cop killer sentenced to 20 years
A convicted cop killer has been jailed for 20 years for murder.
In 2018, Sergeant Thembinkosi Buthelezi was shot and robbed of his service pistol in Pietermaritzburg while off-duty.
Hawks spokesperson Simphiwe Mhlongo says the following day, the stolen gun was found in Ndumiso Memela's car in Inanda.

"As a result, the investigation linked him and he tried to open a false case that he was hijacked, but unfortunately for him the investigation revealed that he was part of the murder."
On Wednesday, the Pietermaritzburg High Court also handed Memela 15 years for robbery.
