PMB commuters to brace for national bus strike

Bus drivers across the country will down tools from 5:30am tomorrow over a wage dispute.
Trade unions - including SATAWU have confirmed that the national bus strike will be going ahead.
Satawu's Zanele Sabela says municipal bus services won't be affected by the strike action.
She says unions haven't been able to reach a wage deal with employers.
"The strike is going ahead. There was meeting set for today between employers and unions to try and find a solution to the impasse. However, employers pulled out of the meeting because we had given them the The unions will go ahead and meet to finalise preparions for tomorrow's strike," Sabela says.

Commuters in Pietermaritzburg, who use the SMT bus service will be affected as drivers of the bus service will be taking part in the strike. Commuters are being advised to make alternative transport arrangements.
In Durban and Richards Bay - municipal bus services, Tansnat and Ikhwezi Bus Service have told Newswatch their drivers will not be taking part in the strike and buses will operate as normal.
