A man has been stabbed to death in an alleged robbery at his Pinetown business on Monday morning.
The body of the man, who is believed to be in his forties, was found by one of his employees.
Blue Security spokesperson, Andreas Mathios says the employee arrived at work and found the business closed.
Mathios says after the businessman failed to respond to the entrance gate, the employee started to worry.
"He was standing at the gate trying to gain access to the property and was not able to do so. So he phoned the victim's family, trying to raise the alarm and it was at this point when he managed to gain access to the property, come on-sight and saw what he thought was suspects fleeing the scene as he was approaching, he then called for assistance and Blue Security responded."
“Our armed response officer arrived at the scene and found that the office had been ransacked and the employer who appeared to not be breathing, lying on the ground. Rescue Care paramedics arrived at the premises and declared the man, who had sustained a fatal stab wound, dead at the scene of the crime,” Mathios said.
Mathios said police were on the scene and are investigating.
