PICS: Waves of excitement as sardines finally arrive in KZN
Updated | By Andrew Robertson
The sardines have
officially arrived in KwaZulu-Natal waters.
This was confirmed to Newswatch by the KZN Sharks Board.
The board's Graig Thompson says the fish came through at first light Monday morning and were seen between Port Edward and Glenmore Beach.
It was a buzz of activity at Port Edward as fishers netted the sardines.

"There was quite a few pockets that came through at first light, there were a few attempted nettings. I know one was successful with about 150 crates and the crates were going for R1 500 per crates.
"There was still a lot of sardines seen in the backline - moving north between Glenmore and Port Edward."
He says this is just the start of the fish sittings in KZN.
"From what we have seen from the south, it looks like there is fair concentration still coming.
"We are expecting a cold front Thursday so I think there's a good chance that you are going to get quite a bit more moving through from the Eastern Cape."
