There have been several fatal car crashes on
Saturday morning.

CATO RIDGE ROAD CRASH
A woman died after a serious crash in Cato Ridge, west of Durban.
It is understood a minibus taxi lost control on the Durban bound side of the N3, colliding into a concrete barrier.
ALS Paramedics spokesperson Garrith Jamieson said several passengers had been ejected.
"Immediately more Ambulances as well as Advanced Life Support Paramedics were dispatched to assist at the scene. One person a female believed to be in her thirties was found to have sustained major injuries, and unfortunately there was nothing paramedics could do for her, and she was declared deceased on the scene.

"The remaining eleven patients had sustained various injuries and once stabilized on the scene they were transported to various Cato Ridge and Pietermaritzburg Hospitals for the further care that they required.
"At this stage the events leading up to the crash is unknown, however, SAPS and RTI were in attendance and will be investigating further,” said Jamieson.
UMHLANGA ACCIDENT
In another incident, it’s understood three people died after two cars collided in Umhlanga, north of Durban in the early hours of Saturday morning.
KZN VIP Emergency Services say the incident occurred at the intersection of Twilight Drive and Centenary Boulevard.

Spokesperson Gareth Naidoo says upon arrival, it was established that the incident involved a T-bone collision which resulted in several occupants being ejected from the vehicles due to the force of impact.
“Tragically, two individuals were declared deceased on the scene. A third victim succumbed to injuries a short while later, despite resuscitation efforts by medics. One additional occupant was stabilised on scene and transported in a critical condition to a nearby medical facility by a private ambulance service.
