Phoenix woman accused of faking kidnapping granted bail

A Phoenix woman accused of staging her own kidnapping has been granted bail of R3 000.
On Monday, police investigated a possible kidnapping on Clay Field Drive in the north Durban area.
It was alleged that she left her business premise to go home, which was not far from her work.
Her husband then received a frantic call from her, claiming she was kidnapped.
He got another call from a man who says his wife's life is in danger if he doesn't pay the 2 million ransom.
The ransom was never paid.
Police, however, discovered that this was all a just a ploy.
In court she was charged with defeating the ends of Justice and was released on three thousand rand bail.
The matter was adjourned to the 7th of June for further investigated.
