Petrol users to cough up more next month

The Automobile Association of South Africa says some motorists will need to budget more for fuel next month.

It says the price forecast for August looks good and bad, depending on your vehicle.

Early predictions are that petrol could go up by 12 cents a litre.  But diesel might come down by 16 cents per litre.

The association's Layton Beard says the adjustments are based primarily on an international oil price that has remained relatively flat.

"Although we are experiencing a weaker Rand at the moment, it doesn't appear to be having an immediate impact on the fuel price," he explained.

"That can change, and it could always have an impact going into September."
