The South African Social Security Agency has confirmed the appointment of Pearl Bhengu as its new acting CEO.
Bhengu has served as the regional executive manager of SASSA in KZN since 2012.
She will take up her new role with immediate effect.
Spokesperson, Paseka Letsatsi says Social Development Minister Bathabile Dlamini was impressed with Bhengu's track record.
"Pearl Bhengu has enormous experience within the sector. The minister would have looked at all aspects but the minister has applied her mind to make sure that the right candidate is appointed to the position," he says.
