Detectives have uncovered a dagga plantation in northern KwaZulu-Natal.

Officials estimate it could be worth hundreds of thousands of rands.
KZN police spokesperson, Ntathu Ndlovu, says the bust took place in the Babanango policing precinct on Wednesday morning.
Ndlovu says a dagga cultivation hub was also being run on the property.
"A multidisciplinary intelligence-driven operation comprising officers from the SAPS Zululand District, Vryheid and Ulundi K9 units, Vryheid Search and Rescue, Home Affairs Immigration Officers, Zone 3 Task Team members and officers from the Ulundi Local Municipality Crime Prevention Unit, was executed after intelligence uncovered approximately five hectares of dagga plantation which masqueraded as a vegetable farm.

"During the operation, 14 suspects were arrested and 10 of them were foreign nationals. Pieces of the South African National Defence Force uniform, machetes and processed cannabis were also found in the possession of the suspects."
The group, aged between 19 and 40, is expected to appear in the Babanango Magistrate's Court soon.
