The Basic Education Minister says they are working with
KwaZulu-Natal officials to ensure the academic programme remains on track in
schools in KZN's storm-hit communities.

Siviwe Gwarube says damages were reported in six districts, with 134 schools affected in KZN alone.
At a school in the Ugu District, a roof collapsed, injuring four pupils.

Gwarube was speaking at a media briefing in the Eastern Cape.
"While there have been no fatalities that have been reported, at least from a school level, there has been significant damage that has been caused in many schools.
"The DBE [Department of Basic Education] is supporting the province to make sure that there are no losses that are made in terms of learning and teaching."
