The court is hearing an application by the United Democratic Movement (UDM) for a secret ballot during a vote of no confidence in President Zuma.

Party leaders from various opposition parties, including the Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) and Democratic Alliance (DA) are taking part in the march.

Speaking at the Mary Fiztgerald Square, Freedom Movement (FM) Leader Prince Mashele said for the first time since 1994, the Constitutional Court will decide on whether a President could be removed through a secret ballot.

"We want to free the conscious of every parliamentarian to be able to decide to choose between South Africa or a corrupt Jacob Zuma," he told the crowd.

Meanwhile, EFF leader Julius Malema said there could never be true democracy without a secret ballot.

"African National Congress MPs are intimidated. We have a responsibility to defend them."

Malema said if President Zuma was not prepared to leave, then they would remove him by force from the Union Buildings.
