Ntuzuma taxi accident leaves one dead
Updated | By Shaun Ryan
A woman has been killed in the Ntuzuma area, after a taxi veered off the road and crashed into a group of pedestrians.
The accident occurred on the Ntuzuma link road off the M25. Emergency services say the taxi then crashed down a small embankment.
Netcare911's Chris Botha says there was severe damage.
"When we arrived there was absolute chaos - a lot of pedestrians injured. A female tragically died there on scene.
"Two other people are critically injured while six sustained serious injuries. One of the critically injured has been airlifted to hospital," he said.
The exact circumstances resulting in the crash are yet to be known at this stage.
Meanwhile, a man has been seriously hurt in a crash along the M65 near the King Shaka International Airport, north of Durban.
A car and an SUV collided at the traffic lights near the airport just before 6am today.
Netcare911 says the man had to be stabilised on scene before he was taken to hospital.
