No confidence debate 'platform for DA's political gain'

A local political analyst feels the DA used yesterday's "no confidence debate" as a platform purely for political gain.
The opposition party was outvoted over a motion of no confidence in President Jacob Zuma, citing his management of the country's economy, among other issues.
Protas Madlala says that the DA will now have to look for more skeletons in Zuma's closet.

"You need a majority vote in Parliament and we know figures or statistics speak for themselves. The ruling party is the majority. So it was sheer politicking by the DA, a futile exercise from the beginning. In the end they made a fool out of themselves," he said.
