NFP could spring a surprise at local polls - analyst
Updated | By Xolani Khumalo
The National Freedom Party (NFP) has launched its election manifesto ahead of the local government elections.
It focuses on governance and infrastructure.
The KwaZulu-Natal-based party has suffered various setbacks in the last few years - the latest being the death of its founder Zanele Magwaza Msibi last month.
Political analyst Levi Ndou says the NFP has proved its resilience in the past - and could surprise many at the polls.
"We need to acknowledge that the NFP has been able to operate during very difficult times.
"The NFP has been able to be that party that existed even when their president the late Magwaza Msibi, was sick.
“”We should also acknowledge the party could not contest the local government elections because of some technicalities which could be blamed on the party of the leadership."
