Updated | By Andrew Robertson
A Newlands West family is clinging on to hope that their son who was kidnapped outside his school will return home safely.
Police say Mmeli Ngcobo was taken by a classmate and two men on Monday.
The 17-year-old had been accused of stealing his classmate's cellphone.
Mmeli's father, Prince says his wife is traumatised. " She went mad she doesn't know what to do anymore because we thought it would be one or two days and they will bring him back. It's difficult."

One suspect has been arrested.
Ngcobo says there've been no developments since then. "I'm still hoping that he will return because even though I'm thinking maybe he's been killed, I don't think will be any reason why they would kill him. I don't know what to do now."
Ngcobo is appealing for more help. " He's dark, not very tall and has gold teeth. He was wearing his uniform."
