New Zululand mayor sets mandate for council, prioritises local investment
Updated | By Steve Bhengu
The new mayor of Zululand has already begun identifying issues that need attention to ensure the district flourishes.
The IFP's Mzamo Buthelezi was sworn in as mayor yesterday following the municipality's inaugural council meeting.
Buthelezi previously held the position of the deputy president of the party. He was succeeded by Mangosuthu's Buthelezi daughter, Phumzile.

Buthelezi told Newswatch he wants to hit the ground running.
"We need to make sure that we come up with policies that will attract investors to come and invest in our district. We won't only focus on the creation of jobs but also trying to make sure that our community tries by all means to circulate the economy of our district at least twice or three times within the district itself," he said.
