New passport tariffs to come into effect next month

The government has gazetted the new tariffs for the South African passport, which are set to come into effect next month.
This will see the maxi-passport increase by a whopping 50%.
The tariffs were gazetted on Thursday by Home Affairs Minister Dr Aaron Motsoaledi.
The maxi passport will now cost travellers R1200, which is an increase from R600.
The 32-page adult passport will now cost travellers R600, which reflects an increase of R200 from the previous year.
An official passport and child passport have also increased to R600 up from R400.
