New homes for 500 Nongoma residents

Some 500 Nongoma residents in northern KZN have moved into their new homes.

Human Settlements MEC, Ravi Pillay, handed over the keys to the properties yesterday as part of phase one of the KoMbuzi Rural Housing Project.
The R65-million project will benefit people living in Nongoma Local Municipality's Ward 3.
A thousands houses will be built during phases two and three.
"The other two phases comprising 1000 units will be constructed after we finished the one we handed over today. As we finished the houses, the beneficiaries will move in.
"We started his one almost two years ago in March 2017. It was due for completion in July this year but we are ahead of schedule," the department's Mbulelo Baloyi said.
