Nearly 15 million South Africans now fully vaccinated

South Africa has recorded yet another milestone with nearly fifteen million adults now fully vaccinated against the Covid-19 pandemic.
A total of 14 833 839 individuals above the age of 18 have now received either the two-dose Pfizer vaccine or the one-shot dose of Johnson & Johnson.
This represents 37% of the country’s population.
A total of 133 468 vaccines were administered in the last 24 hours.
Of these doses, 104 419 jabs were given to the 18-plus cohort group, while 29 049 doses were administered to individuals between the age of 12 and 17.
A total of 621 146 between the age of 12 and 17 have received one dose of the Pfizer vaccine.
Although Gauteng is leading with the highest number of new Covid-19 cases, the province is also in front with vaccinations - 43 060 doses were administered in the province on Monday.
The country has a total of 17 133 579 individuals who have taken the one dose Pfizer vaccine or the two-dose Johnson and Johnson vaccine.
This is 56% of the female population and 43% of the male population.
When it comes to the Department of Health’s Sisonke boosters, a total of 190 019 volunteers on trial have received the booster shot.
This is 38,1% of trial volunteers.
