Msunduzi Municipality says it has deployed a team to address billing system issues with residents in Buff

Residents have complained that their electricity was cut off without any explanation.
Ward 13 Councillor Gladness Mncwango says they held a protest two weeks ago.
Msunduzi Mayor Mzimkhulu Thebolla says the municipality cut of electricity because residents owed money for waste and sanitation.
Thebolla says it's not the fault of residents though, as the municipality had not been charging them for those services.
Thebolla, Mncwango and the community had an engagement on Wednesday.
Mncwango says they have explained to residents that they will now be charged.
" To assess the residents to fill in the indigent form. Those who qualify for rebates and all their delivery stuff, they're going to be assisting those people who are having difficulties on paying their rates or they are electricity, the municipality they are going to be there about a week."
